About me
Ok here it goes, bare with me…because this whole ‘using all the right words’ and trying to sell yourself thing…is tough for me!
So… me…I’m a little science-y, a little sacred, and a little magical!
Ok well, I’m a lot science-y!! That is my background! Loads of study, like loads! Loads of obsession with figuring out how to navigate my own bodily imbalances to stay healthy! Loads of experimenting on my own body, consistently learning newer and deep ways to access ‘alignment’ which I thought would keep me healthy, but more so just allow me to keep doing what I was doing.
And I want to be the person that can still water ski at 80!! That’s one of my big drivers…I don’t why I’m longevity driven. Probably because I already know I’m going to live to my mid 90’s and I want to do it well!!!
I have so many imbalances because I grew up in sports and specifically as a sprint hurdler. We used to joke in our teens we’d all have arthritis by the time we were mid 30’s. I’m not kidding…we were running on pavement, throwing ourselves at padded walls to mimic longer track lanes, we’d bounce out and run back. And then we’d joke about what we doing to our bodies! Look back….eeekkk. But when youth is on your side….you bonce a little.
As we age, we do loose our bounce a bit. Our tissue does age…BUT…and it’s a big BUT…most of aging and the loss of bounce is due to stuck and stored energy in the tissue, biomechanics and shut down organ/energy system.
This is created through many many factors; injury, surgery, sickness, chronic pain/stress, trauma, medications, e-motions, troubled mindset, troubled waters! etc I could go on. Lack of nutrients, toxicity.
I found I was never taught how to manage or activate my energy system, or my organs for that matter. I wasn’t really taught what really healthful eating was and the impact of stress/anxiety, how to navigate my emotions etc. How to live with and for my body rather than living at my body’s expense and burning it out!! In fact BURN OUT is glorified in our current society. If you aren’t exhausted… you clearly aren’t working hard enough. Well maybe Millennials see this differently.
Enter a life altering surgery/life event! And BOOM I was dropped in! Dropped in the muck! Sink or swim, figure it out!! Figure out how to live life, make choices that supported my wellness, all of it, not just my fitness. I was FIT for sure…But I wasn’t healthy.
The reality is…I’m just tryin to figure it out! Figure out how to live with all of life’s circumstances being thrown my way.
Maybe before we get to me…let’s talk about you.
I think the MOST IMPORTANT thing I can say here is…
Do YOU believe you can heal yourself ?
Do YOU believe that there’s a inner wisdom and inner guidance system that goes WELL BEYOND anything that anyone else can tell you? Including tests, doctors, physios…even ME????
Do YOU believe you are a sacred HUMAN that is navigating this earth for a larger purpose?
I honestly believe we need to embrace the WHOLE SELF when moving through setbacks.
I offer the 3 main areas of what helped me heal when I needed it the most…recovery from ovarian cancer and massive surgery
Movement - I found a way of moving to heal, cultivate energy, balance my mind and soul, I need to rebuild my core after surgery and my body after decades of injuries from sport.
Holistic Health - I needed to clear toxins from surgery, food sensitivities and even the food production world, general household toxins and rebalance my gut health. I also needed to develop a healthy cortisol and hormone balance from chronic stress, poor sleep and trauma
Being Human - when I had ovarian cancer at 35 and it was a real identity crisis for me! I THOUGHT I was healthy. I found Holistic Coaching and it was like a bright light shining like the guidance system I had maybe always been looking for. I found a way to come to ME
